UB-IMAGINE, the University at Buffalo Integrated Methods and Application Group for Imaging and Networking Excellence, is a faculty-led consortium situated within the University at Buffalo, aimed at advancing the field of imaging research in Western New York and beyond. UB-IMAGINE represents a collective ambition to push the boundaries of what is possible in preclinical and clinical research through the application and advancement of imaging technology.

Our mission is to create a collaborative environment where scholars and researchers can combine their interdisciplinary expertise to drive advancements in translational imaging research, develop innovative imaging technologies, and mentor the next generation of leaders in the imaging science field. We believe that by pooling our resources and knowledge, we can identify unique funding opportunities, compete on national and international stages, and tackle the most pressing challenges in imaging science that require a synergistic, interdisciplinary approach.

The genesis of UB-IMAGINE traces back to a spin-off from the UB Center for Biomedical Imaging and the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center in 2023, under the leadership of Professor Ferdinand Schweser. The foundation for UB-IMAGINE was laid through a survey among past and current users of the imaging center and a roundtable discussion during the UB Imaging Research Symposium in September 2023. The survey and subsequent discussions highlighted a critical need for increased interconnectivity among UB's various highly specialized imaging research groups.

UB-IMAGINE is our response to this need—an initiative aimed at fostering an exchange of ideas, encouraging interdisciplinary brainstorming sessions, and addressing complex imaging-related problems that can only be solved through collaborative effort. By bringing together the brightest minds in imaging research, UB-IMAGINE is not just a consortium; it is a movement towards a more integrated, innovative, and impactful approach to imaging research and education.

Join us at UB-IMAGINE, where together, we will explore new horizons in imaging science, contribute to the advancement of medical research and education, and shape the future of imaging technology for the betterment of society.
